Guatemala Mayan Biosphere gets $35 million for it's protection

The Northwestern area of Guatemala is the Peten region, it is rich with Mayan historical cities and archeological sites.

Guatemala is earmarking $35 million in funds granted by the InterAmerican Development Bank to be invested over the next 5 years and to be managed by the Ministry of the Environment.
